Course Description:
360° Leadership is a core class for Officer, aspiring Officer, and Member professional development. This course explores and explains the essentials of well-rounded organizational leadership and the obligations of all ranks and levels of membership. Accurate assessment of operational and administrative variables is an acquired skill that provides knowledge of which elements can be controlled or influenced. Participants in this interactive class will engage in scenario-based discussions and presentations to discover practical tools and techniques for building their leadership skills.

SCBA Bootcamp: A Firefighter's Survival School
Course Description:
SCBA Bootcamp: A Firefighter’s Survival School incorporates the combined best practices of contemporary Air Management with the "Lost Art of SCBA Survival Techniques.” Instructors from vastly different areas of the US and Canada have contributed their time, talent, and experience in developing the methods, skills, and techniques taught in this program. This course encompasses a variety of principles and practices for use by all experience levels of Firefighter. Fire does not discriminate - it will kill an unprepared Firefighter in an instant. The SCBA "Continuum of Survival" taught in this program illustrates the training needs of Firefighters and provides multiple skills, maximizing the potential to KEEP THEM ALIVE! Students are challenged, through a series of intense, real-world practical drills, to evaluate their personal capabilities and limitations with SCBA’s while practicing good Air Management techniques and learning the "Lost Art of SCBA Survival Techniques!”

First-In, First Five
First-In, First-Five is a foundational class in our Officer Development Series. Focusing on the decisions and actions taken by the “First-In” Company during the crucial first five minutes of initial company-level fireground operations, this course is beneficial for new Company-Level Officers, existing Officers and Firefighters who aspire to become Officers or simply find themselves occasionally riding the right front seat. The importance of interpreting building dynamics, fire behavior, accurate Size-Up, Strategy and Tactics, Operational Modes, determining Fire flow/Hand-line selections, Occupant Survivability Assessments, Mayday, and other critical decision-making essentials are presented and discussed.

• Demonstrate, through practical /simulated scenarios, an understanding of Strategy and Tactics for Initial Company-Level Operations (STICO)
• Articulate Go/ No-Go scenarios based on victim survivability assessments
• Determine the fire flow and associated handline / master stream for initial and sustained operations, based on given conditions
• Management of initial Mayday/RIT/RIC operations
• Perform “windshield” size-up and direct initial company operations at simulated incidents, including Brief Initial Reports (BIR’s) and Conditions/Actions/Needs (CAN) update reports to the Incident Commander
